Agriculture in the month of January The month of Magh. The arrival of winter. This month’ s climate change exacerbates the intensity of winter. Even in the winter, the farmers are busy in the field work to ensure the food needs of the people. This is one of the busiest times in agriculture. So let us know the important things to do in agriculture in the month of Magh.

Boro Paddy

The urea fertilizer has to be applied over and over. The first installment after 15-20 days of planting of paddy seedlings, the second installment after 30-40 days and the last installment after 50-55 days should be applied as urea fertilizers. Regular irrigation of boro paddy, weed suppression, management of sand and other care should be taken. You can apply an integrated bolass management method to save the paddy plant from diseases and insects. In this case, through clean farming, inter-care, mechanical suppression, conservation of beneficial insects, arranging for birds to sit in the field, lighting traps, you can free the paddy fields. In this way, if the attack of diseases and insects is not prevented, then as a last resort, the right pesticide should be applied at the right time, at the right level, with the advice of the expert as a last resort.

Wheat

In the wheat field where there is a thickness, it has to be diluted. If there is grain from the wheat tree or the age of the wheat tree is 55-60 days, then irrigation should be given to the wheat field urgently. This will increase the yield of wheat. Irrigation should be given once again during the formation of the grains for better yield. The work of suppressing rats in the wheat field has to be done together.

Corn

The ground at the base of the tree should be removed in the corn field. Due to climate change and other reasons, during this time, the attack of insects such as armyworm, fruit armyworm, etc. is seen in the maize crop. The larvae from the affected tree should be collected by hand and destroyed. If the level of attack is high, spencered (tracer 45SC@0.4 ml./l) or abamectin benzoate (proclaim 5 SG or Saham 5 SG @ 1 g/ l) should be applied.

Potato

There may be a disease in the potato crop. That’s why you have to adhere to the δpreneuring schedule. Without delay in the suppression of the disease, 2 grams of extramill or dithane M45 or secure or melody duo should be mixed with each liter of water regularly. Irrigation should be stopped in the field. Apart from this, the work of mulching, irrigation application, weed suppression should also be done in the potato crop. If the potato tree is 80 days old, the tree should be cut down equal to the ground and after 10 days the potatoes should be removed. Use a potato digger machine to extract potatoes very easily and at a low cost. The loss rate is below 1% and the worker saves 50%. After harvesting the potatoes, it should be properly dried and made to make arrangements for preservation.

Cotton

The work of collecting cotton has to start from this month. Cotton is usually collected in 3 stages. In the beginning, 50% of the bowl cracks should be collected for the first time, the second time when 30% of the rest of the fruit is mature, and the last part of the cotton will have to be collected when the remaining crop is mature. On a sunny dry day, the seed has to be harvested. It should be taken care that bad cotton (eaten in insects, diseased) is never mixed with good cotton. The good cotton should be picked up separately and dried in the sun 3-4 times and packed in a sack and stored on macha or danes. Rats can’t destroy, you have to take care of that.

Pulses and oil crops

Lentils, chickpeas, peas, maskalai, moong, linseed at this time. If the mustard, linseed is more ripe, the seeds can burst in the heat of the sun and fall, so arrangements should be made to collect them after 80 percent ripening. In the case of pulses, the crop should be collected by keeping a few inches from the soil instead of lifting the tree with the roots. This will increase the fertility of the land and the supply of nitrogen. At this time, you can grow almonds as a bill crop with onions in the char area.

Vegetables

In order to get a higher yield, winter vegetables such as cauliflower, cabbage, tomatoes, brinjals, woolens, turnips, carrots, legumes, gourds, pumpkins, peas should be taken care of regularly. Following good agricultural practices, the balai should be suppressed through the management of organic fertilizers, organic pesticides, and pheromone traps. Vegetable fields should be irrigated as per the demand as the juice in the soil decreases in winter.

Plants

In winter, the roots of the tree should be regularly irrigated. The soil of the base should be loosened and kept free of weeds. Usually at this time, the tree comes to the tree. After the flowering of the tree, but before flowering, the tilt-250 EC should be mixed with 0.5 ml or 1 ml of conza plus or 2 grams of dithane M-45 per liter of water. During this time, numerous hopper nymphs can be seen in each booth. Within 10 days of the arrival of the mango tree, but once before the flowering and once after a month after that, mix 1.0 ml of simbus/phenom/decis 2.5 ec with every liter of water and soak the leaves, mukuls and branches of the tree well.

Livestock

In winter, poultry is characterized by malnutrition, ranikhet, mycoplasmosis, fowl typhoid, and accumulation of water in the stomach. Vitamins A, C, D, E, K and folic acid should be supplied as per the advice of the veterinarian to solve the problem of rooster-chicken malnutrition. If the intensity of winter is high, the poultry shed must have thick sheet curtains and have ventilation. To prevent ammonia gas in poultry liters, ammonil powder should be mixed at the rate of 1 kg in place of 1 square feet. It is very important to arrange for coarse rice in winter in Gokhamar.  Otherwise, the cows will get sick quickly.

Fisheries

Special care should be taken of the fish in winter as the water in the pond becomes less polluted. Dropsy or swelling of the abdomen occurs in fish such as carp and horn. Arrangements must be made so that the fish do not get wounds. And to cure this disease, 100 mg of terramycin or streptomycin should be consumed for 7 consecutive days with every kg of food.
